Snow!

Valentine's weekend brought snow to Myrtle Beach! It was Blake's first snow, sort of! (We got a few flurries last year, but he was only a few weeks old so we didn't go outside.) The snow brought a lot of excitement to the Grand Strand. We rarely get snow & even more rarely get a few inches of accumulation. We took Blake outside, but he wasn't very interested. He didn't want to touch the snow. It was too cold for him! Here are some pics of the momentous occasion!

How often do you see snow on the beach?
A lot of it had already melted by the time I got down there to take pictures!

So Much to Report!

January has been a whirlwind so far!

Blake started the New Year with a double ear infection & really bad sore throat. Poor little guy! After a couple of weeks of antibitotics, we went back to the doctor a couple of days before his birthday & it was a good thing we did! Blake still had a double ear infection, sore throat, AND bronchiolitis! After more antibiotics & a few days of breathing treatments, however, he was feeling better & back to normal!

Blake's birthday was January 13 & it was lots of fun! Aunt Wendy came to visit & brought a cupcake and a balloon. The balloon didn't last very long, but the cupcake was delicious!

We had more visitors that night. Uncle B made dinner & we were joined by LaLa & Grandpa White. Granna & Pappy came over too! There was more cake to eat & presents to open.

January 16 was Blake's 1st birthday party! It was a blast!. The theme was football & most of the guests wore their favorite team gear to the party. Blake got lots of great toys & some cool summer clothes! We're so thankful to everyone that came out to celebrate Blake's special day; especially those who traveled from far away to come! (Thanks Mike & Jane, Sarah & Jessica!)

In the last few weeks, Blake has been moving around a lot more. He still doesn't crawl in the conventional way, but he gets around pretty fast by army crawling everywhere. He's also learned to say "No, no, no" while shaking his head. He usually gives us a big grin when we tell him no, which makes it even harder to say no to him.

He learns something new everyday & we're so blessed to have him our lives! Now, we're looking forward to warmer weather so we can get outside more!

Blake's First Christmas

Blake's first Christmas was lots of fun. He didn't really know what was going on, but he enjoyed all the paper & boxes. He got lots of great clothes & fun toys! The festivities started on Christmas Eve. We went to Ron & Tammy's (Ron works with Brian). They are so sweet & always have a little gift for Blake. Then, we had the Lewis Christmas at Aunt Diane's house. After that we went to Leonard & Diane's house to have Christmas with them & the Martin family. Christmas Day, we woke up & did our Christmas (the 3 of us). Then, we went to my parents' house for Christmas with them. Blake was exhausted after all the activities that week! I took millions of pictures, of course! Click the link below to see them all. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas & have a safe & Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is almost here!
Here are a few pics of all the fun we've been having this December.

This cow was one of Brian's toys as a child. Blake loves it!

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Blake's first Christmas is almost here! He's not as into the tree as I thought he would be. He did play with the ornaments when I sat him down next to the tree. Most of the time he doesn't even pay attention to it though. I've been working on our Christmas cards & hope to send them out later this week! I haven't started any shopping yet, but I usually wait until the last minute anyway.

I'll be busy this week with Thirty-One stuff! This weekend is the cut-off to place orders to get them in time for Christmas! www.mythirtyone.com/hwlewis.

Hope everyone is doing well! I'll try to be better about putting pictures on here! I know we'll have lots coming up!

Blake's First Halloween & other stuff...

We've been quite busy this month. Lots to report! Blake had his 9 month check up a couple of weeks ago. He's doing great! Weight is 25th percentile, Length is 90th percentile, & head is 95th percentile. I asked the doc about Blake's head & upon further review, he noticed that Blake's head had grown rapidly in the last several months. We had a CT scan done & discovered he has something called benign external hydrocephalus. It sounds a little scary, but is actually not. He has fluid on the outside of his brain, but it doesn't cause any problems or developmental delays. It will level out on its own in a couple of years. SO, Blake just has a big head...for now!

Blake has been sitting up for awhile now & hardly ever falls over anymore. He can eat his Puffs all by himself. He isn't crawling yet, but scoots all around on the floor. I think it's just a matter of time before he starts to crawl!

Fall brought lots of cute photo ops! We got pics of Blake with his first pumpkin, another visit with Granny, along with his first Halloween! You can click the link below to see pics of all the fun we've been having this month! Love to you all!

Blake Swinging (Another Version)

Due to popular demand, I'm uploading another video of Blake swinging. This one is more of a close-up of his face. Still lots of laughing! Enjoy!
